Position Descriptions

 Commercial Job Title: Program Manager

 Minimum/General Experience:  A senior member of the technical staff with ten (10) years or more of experience related to the client’s technical requirements, with other programs of similar complexity and scope, including supervisory or management experience.

Functional Responsibility:  Manages and directs all phases of the program from inception to completion, providing competent leadership and technical direction.  Responsibilities include establishing the technical approach to all program task areas in conjunction with the client and related proposals, and ensuring technical performance, customer liaison, and quality of products and services.

 Minimum Education:  Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, or no degree and fifteen (15) years of related experience.

 Commercial Job Title: Sr. Programmer Analyst

Minimum/General Experience: A senior member of the technical staff with eight (8) years or more of experience in software design and development.

Functional Responsibility:  Plans and directs the development of major programming projects.  Designs and develops software applications.  Performs programming, testing, debugging, and production of procedures or other documentation needed for software control, installation, maintenance, and training.  May also support development if Internet applications, and design and develop complex computer-based and/or multimedia courseware for customer training objectives, including programming-technique standards.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or no degree and ten (10) years experience.

Commercial Job Title: Programmer Analyst

Minimum/General Experience:  An intermediate-level member of the technical staff with general programming skills involving coding, testing, and debugging complex programs.

Functional Responsibility:  Analyzes functional specifications to determine information and process flows.  Develops program logic and codes programs.  Design and executes testing, debugging, and documentation procedures for new or existing programs.  May also support development of Internet applications, and develop computer-based and/or multimedia courseware for customer training initiatives utilizing appropriate authoring languages, systems, and animation and drawing software.

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s Degree, or no degree and five (5) years experience.

Commercial Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer

Minimum/General Experience: A senior member of the technical staff with eight (8) years or more of experience in design and development of software systems.

Functional Responsibility:  Plans and directs the development of major software projects, and the installation of multifunctional systems.  Includes: analysis, design, development, and testing of software application and architectures for large and small computer-based systems.  Also designs/develops Internet applications and computer-based and/or multimedia courseware for customer training objectives.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or no degree and ten (10) years experience.

Commercial Job Title: Software Engineer

Minimum/General Experience:  An intermediate-level member of the technical staff with general software design and development skills applicable to development of complex programs.

Functional Responsibility:  Performs software system design, development and testing.  Analyzes functional specifications to determine information and process flows.  Design and executes testing, debugging, and documentation procedures for new or existing programs.  Also designs/develops Internet applications and computer-based and/or multimedia courseware for customer training initiatives utilizing appropriate authoring languages, systems, and animation and drawing software.

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s Degree, or no degree and five (5) years experience.

Commercial Job Title: Sr. Systems Engineer

Minimum/General Experience: A senior member of the technical staff with eight (8) years or more of experience in systems analysis and design for complex systems.  Works closely with other engineering or technical disciplines, typically in areas that are highly complex in nature, requiring expert application of advanced engineering knowledge related to the client’s technical requirements.

Functional Responsibility:  Performs systems engineering work involving design, fabrication, application, planning, analysis, testing, evaluation, operation, specification development, documentation, and support of electrical, mechanical, or other devices and systems.  May also include software engineering and responsibility for the design, development, modification, and troubleshooting of highly complex software applications and architectures for computer-based systems.

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline.  May also hold an advanced degree.

Commercial Job Title: Systems Engineer

Minimum/General Experience:  An intermediate-level technical staff member with 3 to 5 years progressive experience in systems analysis, design, and engineering.

Functional Responsibility: Performs systems engineering work involving design, fabrication, application, planning, analysis, testing, evaluation, operation, specification development, documentation, and support of electrical, mechanical, or other devices and systems.  This may include related software design that involves analysis, programming, and maintenance of software application programs.

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline.

Commercial Job Title: Technical Writer/Editor

Minimum/General Experience:  A technical staff position with experience in editing and/or writing a wide variety of publications, electronic communications, and documents.

Functional Responsibility:  Performs editing and writing for technical reports, manuals, instructions books, and related technical publications concerned with work methods, procedures, installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment.  Organizes material and completes assignments according to client standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.  May observe activities to determine operating procedures and details.  Generates new material as well as edits, and standardizes or makes changes to material prepared by others.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or no degree and five (5) years experience.

Commercial Job Title: Administrative Specialist

Minimum/General Experience:  Able to perform administrative, clerical, and office support tasks involving a comprehensive knowledge and high degree of skill in office-related computer-based applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, scheduling, and organizing activities.

Functional Responsibility:  Performs a full range of clerical, administrative, and general office duties, involving word processing, spreadsheets, presentation materials, database maintenance, program management, and other support.

Minimum Education:  High school education.

Commercial Job Title: Senior Logistics Engineer

Minimum/General Experience:  Seven (7) years experience (5 years with MS degree) directly related to the client’s Logistics needs/functions and associated technical requirements.  Experience includes other programs of similar complexity and scope, including technical leadership of logistics functions.

Functional Responsibility:  Senior level Logistics services and technical leadership of Logistics functions

Minimum Education:  BS/MS in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Statistical Analysis, Provisioning, Procurement, Acquisition, Distribution, or Business Management.

Commercial Job Title: Logistics Engineer

Minimum/General Experience:  Three (3) years experience (2 years with MS degree) directly related to the client’s Logistics needs/functions and associated technical requirements.  

Functional Responsibility:  Logistics services and technical leadership of Logistics functions

Minimum Education:  BS/MS in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Statistical Analysis, Provisioning, Procurement, Acquisition, Distribution, or Business Management.

Commercial Job Title: Jr. Logistics Engineer

Minimum/General Experience:  Zero (0) 0 to 2 years related experience.

Functional Responsibility:  Logistics and technical services

Minimum Education:  BS/MS in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Statistical Analysis, Provisioning, Procurement, Acquisition, Distribution, or Business Management.

Commercial Job Title: Sr. Logistics Specialist

Minimum/General Experience:  Zero (0) to 2 years (or 3 years and no degree) related experience

Functional Responsibility:  Logistics and technical services

Minimum Education:  BS in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, Statistical Analysis, Provisioning, Procurement, Acquisition, Distribution, or Business Management can be substituted for experience.

Commercial Job Title: Senior Scientist

Minimum/General Experience:  A minimum of 3 years post Ph.D. experience performing progressively more complex analysis and research in a technical discipline.

Functional Responsibility:  Supports Technical Manager in the execution of their duties.  Lead highly complex technical studies and analysis efforts.

Minimum Education:  Ph.D. or equivalent in a technical field

Commercial Job Title: Project Technical Manager

Minimum/General Experience:  Seven (7) years (5 years with an MS degree) of progressive engineering experience, including 3 years management of substantive military contracts.

Functional Responsibility:  Accountable to the Program Manager for one or more task orders placed against the contract.  Shall serve as the focal point for assigned projects.

Minimum Education:  BS/MS in a technical field

Commercial Job Title: Technician

Minimum/General Experience:  Two (2) years related experience

Functional Responsibility:  Data collection and preparation necessary to support engineering studies and reports.

Minimum Education:  High school and 2 years academic training in a scientific, engineering, or technical field.
